Hello, I am new to css, and graphics of websites, I am doing an anti drug website for teens for a non profit organization, I am interested in any ideas for it, the site that I have made already is very plain, and I am not sure what to add to it to make it more appealing. I dont know any css, I tried to learn it online, but it seemed very confusing . Is there any other languages that I could use instead of css? and if you have any ideas, or suggestions to improve the look of the site, please let me know!

Here is the link to my draft page

    Thanks for any help!

well i would vote against any talking dogs.

so like a talking bottle of syrup says buy mrs buttersworth syrup

but a talking dog says your not suposed to get stoned?
    just kidding.

no realy css isnt hard. you just need to cut and paste some small snippets and start playing with it.
remember it is more effective to keep an external style sheet as this one sheet can be linked to for the entire site, making changes very fast, easy, and effective. keep the style sheet in the root dir with the index page.

and no. learn css or the site will look like dodo.

blech, I hate css, if I were you I would forget about learning css in order to create a non profit website.
You would be much better off using Drupal or Joomla. Joomla would probably be easier for you to use as its learning curve is not as steep compared to that of Drupal.

If you want to stick with css however then I suggest instead of starting from scratch, use a template and modify it to your liking.

Here is a great place for free website templates

    Hope this helps

You can also use wordpress as cms and convert your site to a blog. Joomla is has many more features than wordpress, thus takes more time to master it properly.Use joomla only if u r going to put complex freatures like community building, onloine store etc.
With wordpress you will get many free templates to use , so you won't have to learn css or web designing.

You didn't post this in the PHP forum, and admitted to not knowing CSS,
so a CMS might not be the best choice. You really need to understand some
things about PHP, MySQL, CSS, XHTML, etc. in order to use Joomla or WP.

Find a free CSS template (using Google) and download it.
See how they insert content and images to help guide you in learning CSS.

It seems daunting right now, but in a couple of weeks, you'll come back
to this thread and laugh ... and know what the other posts mean.
