    Hey everyone,

    I am looking for a script similar to the one on www.newspapertree.com, specifically the script exhibited in the "More Articles" section near the middle/bottom of the page.

    When you rollover the article title, additional content is revealed (in a pretty neat sliding animation I might add). When I rollover another article title in the same section, additional content is revealed while the other content is then hidden again.

    Looking for a valid and clean solution (obviously :ichatwink, but I'll take what I can get.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

    I don't know of something pre-built, but animations like this are relatively easy using Scriptaculous: http://script.aculo.us/

    Thanks for the scripts- I will definitely take a look at them. I might try building something myself.

    Any ideas before I try to take this up?

    Am not quite sure what you're after as nothing seemed to happen on my computer!!!! However, you can use a css image gallery type of effect to get pictures and/or text appearing in a specified place onthe page when you hover (overwriting what's there if you choose) and then disappearing when you cease hovering.

    Hoods,

    Thankfully its just a vanilla implementation of MooTools and using the MT More plug-ins Accordian and Slide, plus a little DHTML/CSS for the slight fade effect. I wrote up a simple version, and placed it on my site: http://dev.ungus.com/accord-news-menu/

    It's like theres, it just needs some serious stylin' :-)

    Let me know if this is what you were looking for or need any help. Just holler.

    Hoods,

    Great! I'm glad that worked for you and I hope it's cleaned enough that you can polish it up nice.

    A great little add-on for Firefox is this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10083

    Library Detector 1.0.2
    "Detects what javascript libraries are being used on the current page and displays the result as icons with detailed tooltips in the statusbar."

    Instead of digging through someones overly organized folder structure that is 12 levels deep. :-)

    I appreciate your help Ungus, that will make a great ad-on. I might make a few tweaks, but other than the content and layout of the dt's/dd's, the animation/action works like a charm. It's functional and stylish.

    If only the WordPress support forums had this kind of response (haha).

    Actually ungus, maybe you can bail me out again. I have a plugin (Slimbox 2) that utilizes mootools.x.js. The problem is that using booth mootools on my site/page creates a JavaScript error. They are in different folders.

    I know very little JavaScript, so I'm hoping there is a quick fix that I am unaware of.

    Here are the two files:
    http://www.richardsapien.com/mootools1.js
    http://www.richardsapien.com/mootools.x.js

    Is there anyway around this? Thanks for your help.

    Hi Hoods,

    Sorry for the late reply, busy day for a Friday.. ugh.

    Slimbox uses jQuery, that uses the a variable called $; so does MooTools (as do others). So conflicts everywhere. :-)

    The quick fix is after you're done using Slimbox, you can have jQuery release its reference to the '$' variable, and then MooTools is free to run.

    So once you're done using Slimbox, place the snippet of code below after it:

    Code:
    <script>
      jQuery.noConflict();
    </script>
    Keep in mind, if you use Slimbox again, or something else that uses jQuery, they wont work. There is another somewhat simple way around this too. I can show you how to handle that scenario if you want.

    Example:
    http://dev.ungus.com/accord-news-menu-conflicts/

    And here is an archive of it:
    http://dev.ungus.com/accord-news-men...-conflicts.zip

    If you have it so you're using both on and off through-out your script (which is the most common thing). Let me know, and I have a better implementation for this.

    Ungus.
    Josh
