    Webpage linking issue::::

    The navigation is in flash and all the pages are in dreamweaver. I am having major issues linking the flash buttons to the dreamweaver pages. I was told to use _urls.text file drop it in the ftp where the rest of my html files are and it would magically work. I now suspect that I need to code either the home page or the buttons themselves but I'm unsure. I keep trying and I feel like my head is going to explode because it's not working.

    The text file is below

    url1=http://www.marineservicespro.com/index.html
    url2=http://www.marineservicespro.com/menus.html
    url3=http://www.marineservicespro.com/brunchmenus.html
    url4=http://www.marineservicespro.com/directions.html
    url5=http://www.marineservicespro.com/press.html
    url6=http://www.marineservicespro.com/reservations.html

    Is there something I'm missing here???

    Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me!! :ichatangel:

    The author of the Flash script is looking at an external file for the links.
    Show us the specific instructions they gave you.

    They want you to create a text file called "_urls.txt" and upload it to the
    same place as the other files you have. But they must have provided some
    examples to show you what that file should look like?

    Also show us your website.

    This text file was in the folder::
    FLASH SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
    ==============================

    To define links, please edit _urls.txt
    Ensure this file is placed in the same directory as where flash html files are stored.

    NOTE: Flash links may not work locally in the browser, please upload flash template to a remote server before testing links.

    Each _urls.txt file comes with 14 pre-defined links. Your flash template may only use a few of these links. You can simply remove unused links.

    Also the un-edited _urls.text is below::
    url1=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page1.html
    &url2=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page2.html
    &url3=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page3.html
    &url4=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page4.html
    &url5=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page5.html
    &url6=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page6.html
    &url7=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page7.html
    &url8=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page8.html
    &url9=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page9.html
    &url10=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page10.html
    &url11=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page11.html
    &url12=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page12.html
    &url13=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/pag13.html
    &url14=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/pag14.html

    The page I'm using to test out the nessa website is http://www.marineservicespro.com/

    Thanks so much for your help!!!! :ichatbiggrin:

    Is this wrong??

    The error I keep getting is NO URL and now the index page doesn't even remain open. I have been messing around with the code a lot. I do have a clean version of it on my home computer that I can upload tonight.

    So how does it know what words to put for the links,
    like "about us" "menu" "brunch menu" ... etc?

    There must be more to the files than what I'm seeing?

    and their example has & symbols in front of the lines.
    url1=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page1.html
    &url2=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page2.html
    &url3=http://www.yourcompanyname.com/page3.html

    Later tonight, if you feel comfortable,
    PM (private message) me with your FTP account info and I would be willing
    to actually go in and look at it ... you're using frames and such. I'm guessing
    there's an issue with file paths, but I would need to see the whole thing.
    It's too hard to tell just by using this forum.
