    Hi Guys,

I'm working on a few things at the moment but one of them requires having a news section.

I would prefer to create it in such a way that the client can update the news themselves without needing any help from me or any knowledge of coding.

I was thinking about a CMS like Joomla but I wasn't sure if it was possible to just integrate into a standard html/css website or whether the whole website needs to be design with the CMS.

I did come across this: http://bytescout.com/how_to_create_n...r_website.html but I wasn't sure if there was an easier/better/more efficient way to do this which is why I was looking at a CMS.

    Any thoughts or ideas?

    Thanks,
    Ali Hitch

Is it news that can just change once in a while, no archive, no searching?
Or do you need to keep every article they write?

I would like to have the option to keep every article they would right - but this would of course have to be with a setup that allowed them to write articles easily without needing any coding experience which is the most important thing.

It sounds like you have a plan

If they have to keep them, then you'll need a database (MySQL).
That makes it harder. Unless you use WordPress, or find another
simple CMS system, you'll have to code an admin panel where the
articles can be administered, along with a login so only certain
    people can add/edit/delete articles.

If they don't have to keep them, you can just use any old online
editor such as FCKEditor, and they can edit one file that keeps getting
changed over and over again ... the site displays that one file on the page.
No way to archive it, and the login for it would be one password for everyone
    who wants to change it.

    I see.

How easy would it be to intergrate wordpress into an existing site? I have vaguely played about with it before but my understanding was you would have to edit the wordpress template to look like your original design? ...otherwise it just looked odd.

I'm not sure it is just possible to just integrate its features?

It's tough to just integrate its features ... I suppose it's possible though.
    I don't think I would attempt it.

Maybe there's another pre-existing article script that you could use,
and integrate it into your existing site ...

    Like this:

That's just an example of one ... I found using Google:

You could use xml and php, although its probably a steeper learning curve you won't need a database for it.
