So I'm getting ready to launch my PHP Development Framework.

We've been using QiPHP for the name, but I'm having second guesses! Help me out!

    Name choices are:
    1. QiPHP or
    2. ChiPHP

    More info:
    • I own both domain names (and variations on them)
    • Both names are pronounced the same ("chee" PHP).
    • The meaning is "vital force or energy" in Chinese, as used in the martial arts Tai Chi and Qi Gong.
    • Qi is the proper spelling per Pinyin Chinese rules. Most westerners, however, mispronounce it "kee".
    • Chi is more commonly used in the west, though it's being phased out with the adoptance of Pinyin pronunciations.
    • USPTO was giving me a hard time with Qi - claiming it stood for "Query Interface", which was my main reason for thinking of using Chi, but they approved my application today, so...

    What do you guys think?

QiPHP looks more like a technical coding language.
ChiPHP is too close to Chia Pet!

    So QiPHP it is.

I would suggest you buy phpqi and php-qi and forward everything to PHP-Qi.
This is one of those cases nobody is going to spell it correctly so you have nothing to lose.
So go for the one that looks sleek and esoteric. That's PHP-Qi.
The hyphen helps search engines pick out the PHP term and looks better.
I usually avoid hyphens but sometimes it makes sense.
I have a similar thing going with Quasi-Free.org. I wouldn't do this without owning QuasiFree.com, which I do. But I want to streess the .Org and the Free so I forward to Quasi-Free.org. Krystoff, the thread hasn't been posted to in 18 months...

He bought both and ChiPHP redirects to QiPHP.
