Ok I just read here: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogsp...-indexing.html that google can now index flash text content. Does anybody know if it can index flash that is loaded via the swfobject javascript library? Or will there be any problems with this?

Yeah, should be able to... but that doesn't mean anything, because your ranking will still be garbage.

haha... But some are flash lovers and some are haters, Im in between... lol... I've just suggested to a company that a pure flash site would rank poorly on search engines... and the website is too.... i don't know the words to describe it can anybody help me find the words
... but seems to me they just don't care about search engine optimization..

Yeah I got one word to describe it....SLOW! About 30 seconds for the home page, then I click on servoces and didn't bother waiting past the 15% loading. Nobody will ever stay on that site.

    from my blog.

I've done seo for some clients with flash site sand this is the FIRST thing i do.

Pros and Cons, this is considered "blackhat" by some places i've read, but until flash indexing becomes more reliable, i will wear my black hat proudly.

I dont see it as black hat considering my html content replicates my flash content, im not serving different content

To convince people about seo you may want to do some google searches on:
    PPC vs SEO
    PPC vs Organic SEO

SEO - pay for it once, it works for you forever
PPC - Constantly pay, if you cant pay anymore, you lose that traffic

Heres a good one that I always show clients or mention to them:

Thanks for the reply ABF. . . by the way are these techniques that you use considered blackhat by google? itself?? because if it is. . .then wouldnt they penalize you for using it?

well, i have read that it is considered blackhat but im not sure if its by google itself.
basically, if you hide content and serve google other content, thats blackhat. (e.g detecting if its googlebot and serve them different content), but i have sites that are still ranked in the top 10 and they use the technique mentioned in my blogpost. I mean, I don't really see it as blackhat, because what if your requirement is to serve different content to non-javascript users...youd be penalized for that?..makes no sense.

until Google gets better with flash indexing, i dont see harm in using the technique. from my own experiences, it wont harm your SERPs
