This might belong in a different forum but I'm not sure what kind of web design this is(if its PHP, JavaScript, what.) What I'd like to have on my website is ... if I write an article on a particular topic on my web page, give readers the ability to respond and post a reply. I realize that this is basically what a blog is, but is there any way to do this without setting up a blog and just have it on any of my web pages? Basically if I have an article about this weeks projections in football, allowing any readers to click and post any comments directly to that article.

yep, PHP, ASP, ASP.net and a DB on the back end to collect the responses. I would really not encourage you to have "open" submits without some kind of captcha or something to weed out the BOTS that look for that and just flood your DB with all kinds of URL submissions, ect...

You'd be much better off with a blog, as all the functionality that you are looking for is already built into it, and you won't have to recreate the wheel and find out the hard way that there is a lot more to it than what you see on the surface.

If you integrate your site into a wordpress blog it would be much easier for you to implement this. It would save you a lot of time to make updates and your website design will stay the same.
