My mom wants a commenting system on her site that I'm making, something along the lines of a guestbook sorta thing. For testimonials.
I'm strictly against the idea - I explained about spammers, advertisers, malware etc, but her opinion won't budge. (she know almost nothing abot internet, unfortunately :/ ) Anyway..Would you guys know any (preferably) free scripts that accomplish the following?
    • captcha
    • one of these: user has to enter special code(will be given by my mom) in order to post OR i get to choose what shows and what doesn't (sorta unethical)
    • I can be an admin of the whole thing

Even though I've tried to avoid it, I think it's crossing into the CMS area, of which I know null about.

    :help:

    PHP or ASP ?

I've written several in ASP and they are pretty to implement...

You do know that almost every CMS out there has a CAPTCHA plugin, but you also need to find a IP blocking plugin as the bulk of spammers come from the same areas...

I have an OLD WP install sitting out there, it's been up about 4-5 months now and I've gotten over 600 spam submissions from the 1 post on the site, I intentionally don't use captcha on it so I can supplement some other scripts I use to harvest rogue bot's, site scrapers and spammers IP addresses so I can update my DB's that are protecting several of my clients sites.

    That's smart!
I know very little PHP and no ASP, so the easier to implement it is, the better it would be.
