    Hi All,

    Okay, as you know Im good with CSS and HTML, the thing im currently useless at is JScript and Jquery.

    I have found inspiration with this site http://www.templatemonster.com/demo/34361.html template. And want to recreate something similar for my site. Only issue is I dont really know how to go about being able to do what this template does.

    Does anyone have any ideas? I love the template design and layout and the way its hightech and DOESNT use flash.

    So any help would be most apt.

    Cheers

    Marc

    It uses absolute positioning to peg the elements into place. I.e., the top left one is set to right:0 and bottom:0. Then, it uses a simple script to change the size from 150px X 150px to 251x251.

    I didn't dig around to see exactly how they did it, but it probably looks somewhat like this in jQuery:

    $('li a').hover(function(){
    $(this).animate({
    height: 251px,
    width: 251px
    });
    });

    Forgive me if the syntax is a bit off, as I'm still learning, but that's the general idea.

    Why don't you just purchase their template?

    Of course, you could probably just use CSS3 transitions with a :hover element.

    Beauty of JavaScript is it is visible to all!

    The magic of this happens in: http://static.livedemo00.template-he.../js/scripts.js

    e.g.

    Code:
    var ctgrs=$('.ctgrs'),
            ctgrs_d=ctgrs.data('_navs')
        ctgrs.navs({
            hover:true,
            blockSame:false,
            hoverIn:function(li){
                $('a',li)
                    .stop()
                    .animate({
                        width:251,
                        height:251,
                        fontSize:36
                    },{
                        easing:'easeInQuart'
                    })
            },
            hoverOut:function(li){
                $('a',li)
                    .stop()
                    .animate({
                        width:150,
                        height:150,
                        fontSize:24
                    },{
                        easing:'easeOutSine'
                    })
            }
        })
    Which is what you've all been talking about with the hover.
