    Oh dear. This is tricky.
    I want to make this one:
    http://shovenose.com/clients/nhsafjrotc/
    be like this:
    -have that yellow color be the background all the way to the edge of the screen.
    -have the 710px body have a black border with rounded corners, then inside that border have a lighter color (let's just make it white then I can go back and fix it later...
    -the border needs to have a shadow effect to make the body/border stand out from the rest of that dark yellow color.
    -the border would go above the image too... and go under the bottom of the page too...only thing that would be outside (under) the border would be the shovenose.com link...

    thanks everybody. I know i've done all this before (on one of the playitagain site ideas) but I haven't looked at HTML for many months now but am seriously getting back into it

    PS: this is their current site:
    http://nhsafjrotc.org/
    it's an ugly piece of **** thrown together with Dreamweaver...
    so I'm making them a better one

    Code:
    .mainContent {

    width: 710px;

    border-radius: 5px 5px 5px 5px;

    box-shadow: 0 0 10px #ABA9A5 inset;

    }

    you don't have a border!

    you'll need to define one to see. although messing with you page i think you're looking for this:

    Code:
    #page {
        background-color: white;
        border-radius: 10px 10px 10px 10px;
        box-shadow: 0 0 20px #ABA9A5;
        margin: 0 auto;
        width: 710px;
    }
    (removing the inset value from the box-shadow).

    You could do that and then try something like:

    Code:
    border: 1px solid #000000;

    Oops I meant shadow, not border. Apologies. OMG I think it was just very late at night. Lol!
