Hello there I am currently doing an essay for my university, I am tasked with choosing a question and creating a 2000 illustrated essay based on research. I would really apreciate it if you could answer my poll as it will help me greatly with my research.

To clarify the question I am asking is with the use of flash and jquery and more attractive designs, have these websites forgot that content is key for a website, that without content a site has no message. I personally have seen some very overdone flash websites just coverd with adverts or animations and very little content, but I feel content is always needed and should come first over any dynamic interaction in a website and would like your view on this topic.

Please give my essay a read, let me know if it is interesting, valid, crap?, good, really apreciate any feedback on it

    Thank you.

While you may have seen some websites that are overdone, content is still king. Any even mildly successful web designer will understand that. If a website provides no value to a visitor, they'll find the next one that does. Content isn't lost, designers who forget it are.

Agree completly with you Ronald, I know some people who build a site and just forget about the content at all, they see a site use a animation or effect and think great il do the same, then it turns out bad. Thats why I created a poll just to help with my research and get oppions as Im sure people may have differant views.

    What Ron said.

Like I said in the beginning, I don't know how you stretch this to 2000 pages, but the so-called demand for interactivity and motion is one that is based on a real concept (i.e. that the human eye is drawn to that which they see moving and ideally can play with) but one that, when used ineffectively, can be overdone.

    Content is still king.

Here's a great article that illustrates this point. Even if he does seem to like ragging on political sites of a very specific leaning, the message is simple, and the proof is in the pudding. Content rules even when design sucks.
