    Hard to tell what's wrong without seeing the code - is it online somewhere?
    Can you please post a link?

    If you want a background image for an entire page...325x280 is FAR too small to take up the entirety. I'd suggest something closer to 1600x900. You'll want to give it a fixed position starting at top: 0 left: 0.

    If you are giving a <div> tag a background-image...set the div dimensions to width: 325px height: 280px. As far as having that specific <div> display in the same location in all browsers, there are a variety of different ways to do this. The most common would be to create a fluid page design. You'll want to create an all-encompassing container where your webpage content will be placed, and most likely you'll want to center it.

    Here's some sample code for you to toy with:

    style.css--
    Code:
    body , html{ margin: 0; padding: 0; font-family: georgia,times,serif; }
    #header { width: 100%; height: 50px; background-image: url('../images/header.jpg'); margin-bottom: 15px; }
    #header-main { margin: 0 auto; width: 960px; position: relative; }
    .right { float: right; }
    .top10 { margin-top: 10px; }
    index.html--
    Code:
    <html>
      <head>
      <link href="css/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
      </head>
      <body>
      <div id="header">
      <div id="header-main">
      <div class="right top10">
      <img src="images/logo_small.png">
      </div>
      </div>
      </div>
    </body>
    </html>
    Hope this helps
