    Hi webdesigners,

I've been working on this article though I'm not a designer myself, because I want a raise in my career
Could you please help me with it? I need some help from professional designers which really know what is what.

I have found some images for this article. Do you like them? If not, which images would you suggest me to use for these subtopics (links).

Here is the link to the draft: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...zxE/edit?hl=en

    Thanks in advance.

    Hmmm ...

I should write an article about flying various airplanes, plane construction and characteristics of flight,
    but I'm not a pilot ...

Totally doesn't make sense to me, but I guess it's your dime.

    What about HTML5/CSS3?
That's going to be a big one for 2012 ... at least before December.

I'm pretty sure that's a paraphrase of another article I read last week.

    My point was ...
He is writing an article about web design, but he's never designed a website.
Since he doesn't know about web design, he's asking for experts to tell him what is what.

That doesn't make sense to me.
Wouldn't a person write something that they are knowledgeable about?

Yeah, I picked up on that. And BTW, I'm not a pilot, but I do aircraft maintenance, so let me know when you're ready for that aircraft article.

Thanks to everyone who helped me this much, especially to the ones who mocked on me. I really learned a lot.

But could you please advice good examples of Minimalism to include to this article?

    Thanks

We're really not mocking, but having a hard time understanding.
And your post about advising good examples of Minimalism ... again, I'm not understanding.

It seems to me like you would get instant and extensive examples by using Google:
    https://www.google.com/search?q=mini...es&btnG=Search

I assume there might be professional web designers on this forum, but now it's been almost
a week since your first post. I'm not seeing anyone stepping forward. What you're doing looks
perfectly good to me, but I'm not a web designer. I guess I was mocking myself ... for my
    lack of design skills. ops:

Well, I do consider myself a professional designer, since I charge money for my work, but I didn't step forward because I just felt that this was a silly and rather time-wasting question.

Just as I would not presume to write an article on, say, dentistry, since I know nothing about it - I fail to see the reasoning behind someone writing an article on web design if they know nothing about it.

I've taken a look at the linked draft of what there is so far, and apart from the bad grammar, there is nothing there that can't be found on any of the top 10 Google results for "web design trends 2012" - articles written by people who are in a far better position to judge from experience and expertise what we can look forward to in the upcoming year.

My advice to the OP is that if you want to boost your career, write about what you know.

I won't repeat what AM just stated because I am with her 100%. My only question is: WHY are you writing this?
