    Do I need to have a business license if I want to freelance and i'm below 18? I'm 17 and im just about ready to start my portfolio.

    You probably need to check with the city or county you live in and ask them. Our office is located on our horse farm in the county. We don't have to have a business license because of living in the county but we do have to have a tax number. If we lived in a town around us, we live in a remote mountain area, we would have to have a city business license then. We're also an LLC company and you may want to check into that also.

    I have a designer friend that works out of her home and she has nothing like we do. She uses here SS number for tax purposes...she also lives in the county and not in the city. We have employees where she doesn't so things are simpler for her.
