    Hey,

I already have my website created and live on the internet. It was designed from an XML Flash template that I purchased. Here is the problem I am having.
I have some experience with coding. I also have Dreamweaver to use for editing purposes.
I want to know how I can add new content areas to my webpage, for example, I want to add a live Blog/RSS Feed section on my page in which people can comment.
I guess I am looking trying to figure out what file/folder needs to be edited and how would I do this?

Any feedback or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in adavance!

If it's a Flash application, you can't modify it unless you have Macromedia editor,
or some way to edit Flash applications. The Flash designer that did the template
uses an XML file for the user to change various content, not the actual template.

Since I'm not a Flash expert, I can't answer that.

I'm thinking that you have an .fla or .swf file, but whether or not
you can edit the actual scripting, not sure. Maybe if you have the .fla
file? But probably not with the .swf file? You might want to ask about
this on a forum dedicated to Flash.

You're correct, you need the .fla files to edit in flash...

But it also depends on how the developer created the connections to the XML file.

I've seen some where developers basically locked it down do you couldn't expand the site past their original design ( so you have to pay them ), but then again, they met their original obligation of the contract.

I've seen other flash based applications be built so the owner could expand pretty much everything by just creating new folders, and modifying the XML file so the new folders show up in the site navigation.

I haven't touched flash in about 5 years and have no desire to start back again, kinda like Latin in high school ( why do I want to learn a dead language ? )... I know enough about flash to know to stay away from it ( especially for site layouts and management )... If used for small visuals, etc... It's fine...

I've had numerous clients ask for "flash specifically"... And in trying to determine why they were asking for it, the best answer I ever got was " well, my 15 year old nephew told me that was the evolving new technology for the web and we want to be cutting edge ".....

My response... If my granddaughter told you to give me a million bucks... You gonna do that too ?

And, with what Yuranga said ... give us a link to the XML file as well.
If we can see what the XML file contains, that would give us more clues.
