    I was checking a page of mine last night using "inspect element" in Chrome. I saw a huge chunk of strange code in a div just below the <body> div. I was alarmed, checked several other pages, it was there also, then went off my site, checked some pages (including the main page of WDF) and it's there also.
    Checked them again in Firebug for FF - the code's not there.
    The code goes something like this:
    HTML Code:
    <div id="GRwrapper8" class="GRwrapper GRtextareaWrapper" style="display: none; ">
    <div class="GRcontour" style="padding: 3px; border: 0.9090908765792847px solid transparent; border-bottom-left-radius: 4px; border-bottom-right-radius: 4px; border-collapse: separate; border-image-outset: 0px; border-image-repeat: stretch; border-image-slice: 100%; border-image-source: none; border-image-width: 1; border-top-left-radius: 4px; border-top-right-radius: 4px; -webkit-border-fit: border; border-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-image: none; outline: rgb(0, 0, 0) none 0px; box-sizing: border-box; overflow: auto; text-overflow: clip; background-attachment: scroll; background-clip: border-box; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); background-image: none; background-origin: padding-box; background-size: auto; -webkit-background-clip: border-box; -webkit-background-composite: source-over; -webkit-background-origin: padding-box; -webkit-background-size: auto; font-family: Calibri, 'Trebuchet MS', Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12.727272033691406px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-align: start; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-rendering: auto; text-shadow: none; text-transform: none; -webkit-font-kerning: auto; -webkit-font-smoothing: auto; -webkit-font-variant-ligatures: normal; -webkit-text-combine: none; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-emphasis-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-emphasis-position: over; -webkit-text-emphasis-style: none; -webkit-text-fill-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-orientation: vertical-right; -webkit-text-security: none; -webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-anchor: start; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-position: 0% 0%; background-repeat: repeat repeat; ">
    <div class="GRrichText" greditor="true" style="-webkit-box-orient: vertical; -webkit-column-rule-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); line-height: normal; "></div>
    </div>
    </div>
    Although it changes depending on the site I'm checking.
    It doesn't seem to change the way the pages render at all, but it bothers me nonetheless.
    I have been looking at pages with "inspect element" for a long time now and this is the first time I have seen this.
    Can this have anything to do with Google's new changes? Is Google inserting this in the browser? If I go back to an earlier version of Chrome (not sure how to do this, or if it's worth the effort) will it go away?

    Do you have any extensions enabled for Chrome? That looks like code for an extension, and on my version of Chrome (21.0.1180.79 m) that doesn't show up.

    Except that FF isn't Chrome, which is not really a solution at all. :smug:

    That's kind of like saying "if your car doesn't work, simple solution - use a bicycle".

    FF = now only marginally better than IE -slow, clunky, bloated, used only for testing anymore

    Well, your username is Shovenose, not FireFox.
    Your avatar is the FF logo - but I don't see what that has to do with anything - I don't think you are personally affiliated with FF in any way, are you?
    FF is not my first (or even second) choice of browser - it may be yours, but that's the beauty of having multiple browsers to chose from, you can use FF and I can use Chrome or Safari. The downside of that, of course, is cross-browser compatibility in design.
