Hi there, I want a method so that my client can add news to his website without having to edit any web pages. Are there any free blogs out there that let you embed them into a small fram say 300px wide.

    Cheers oppos!

We did basically the same thing for a client. We used cushycms
We use cushycms often so some of our clients won't have to use WP, Joomla or Drupal.
You build the site and make an area on the site where he can use cushy to edit that area from his computer or anywhere else where he can login to cushycms. It's also free.

It all depends on the purpose of the blog.

Sure you can use blogger then use an iFrame to include it on the site, but if the purpose is to help with SEO ... Probably not a good idea. Search engines don't really care for or read any information as yours if it's in an iFrame.

If you have minimal coding skills, you want to check with your hosting provider to see if they have something like Wordpress as an installable option on your site. Many decent hosting providers do offer one click solutions like this from their control panel.

A word of warning with that one, only use it if the hosting provider has he newest version to install... And make sure to keep up with the updates, WP has become a target for hackers lately, so you need to keep the updates current.

Other than that, you can always hire a developer to either write you a custom script for this purpose, or install a pre built app and configure it to work with your site.

What server platform are you using?

    Check out www.hotscripts.com

If you're using a Linux server that supports php , you can find a lot of scripts in the php section just for that... Some even use a "text" file instead of a database. Permissions are critical for them to work correctly.

If you're using a windows hosting platform, check out the asp section or asp.net section ... Similar types of files...

Again, depending on your knowledge and skill level, it can be super easy or moderately challenging to install some of this scripts.
