    I'm sending out paper receipts, but I'm thinking of using electronic receipts, since my invoices are .pdf anyway. I'm not sure how legitimate it is (especially concerning the IRS), so I thought I'd check in with all of you.

    Two methods I'm thinking of:

    1 - Email. It might seem lazy, but all kinds of online retailers send receipts via email.

    2 - PDF receipt. I already send PDF invoices (they can print it if they want to). They can easily print the receipt if they want to.

    I generate receipts on the fly and send them to my clients in RTF format. No one's had an accounting/tax issue yet with it.
