ROFL! Thanks ... I took a swig of my cola just as I opened the image.
Most of it came out my nose when I saw your armadillo drawing. Fantastic!

I've pulled myself together now ...

On the main page you'll just have a list of letters A-Z?
So "A" will always open the list of "A" items ... in this case apple is always first?
Or would you rather have the 2nd page randomize them so you won't know
    which "A" item appears first?

You're OK with the page refreshing after each link is clicked?

If all of that is true, this could be done using PHP. You didn't post this in the
PHP section, and I'm not sure how much you know about that, and if you have
a typical shared webhost online somewhere?

Is your site a hand-made site, or is it like a WordPress site?

Need more info on your specifications, screen sizes, and capabilities such
as using on a desktop, laptop, iPad, iPhone, Android, other devices?

Word press could work i just tried it out, but it installs with a blog or something on it.

main page would have a banner or whatever of the website with a list from a-z, clicking on one would go to an alphabetical list or however i put them in, there would be about 20 or so in each letter.

after clicking the "apple" it would have some info about the apple

would not be used on a handheld device or anything special

Can I ask what the purpose of the website is for?

    Maybe using WordPress is overkill.

Would your website have a bunch of other things, like other articles, contact us, etc?
Does your website require people to register or log in?

Describe what the site is for.

Why not just a drop-down list of all monsters.
They pick the one they want and click it.
A box can pop-up with the answer (using javascripting).

They will be able to view it without leaving the page.

You would be doing the scripting on a custom WordPress page.
The pop-up could be the image with the text on it using LightBox.
So there would be no "posts".

Doing it your way is OK too ... you just have to customize the WordPress scripting.

The main point is whether or not your website will be used for other things.
If that's all it is supposed to do, I don't see the point of using WordPress.

Also something we need to know ...
Who updates the list and photos/graphics?
Is this something that is constantly changing?
Do you know of any databases that already contain the data you need?
Perhaps you can tap into another database instead of making your own?
