My favorite "set-up-really-quick-no-config-necessary" server is IIS bundled with WebMatrix (didn't say I didn't use one, just that I didn't think it was necessary, which it turns out I was wrong about). All you have to do is fire up WebMatrix, and the server is ready to go.

I do remember having seen that flag come up in IE. Been so long since I've worked on anything static...
Yeah me too, occasionally I pull a copy of a clients code that is static, one company intranet ( based on shared local files ) that I manage and keep an eye on, they are looking to move to an actual server based, occasionally one of the people that's allowed to update pages, thinks adding some JS is good, and usually generates errors.

I knew you probably were running something like webmatrix , I have WAMP installed on one of my home servers for the PHP stuff I'm learning. I have IIS ( different flavors ) on pretty much everything but my netbook.

I've spent so much time messing with Wamp and Xampp. Hours upon hours getting it to work just well enough, only to have it stop working after a while. With WM, I just launch the program, and it handles everything else.
