1024MB DDR2 SDRAM. Intel Graphics Media Accelarator.

Must I download Wamp. What do I do with the site in notepad++ to test it in WAMP. how do I do it, or is their an instruction manual, cause I want to get my first page that is uploaded correct, and maybe try improve and build on the site. Im not worried if it never takes off, or makes any money. just want to get experience at building sites.

Look up installing IIS ON A vista machine... It would be the least taxing for a machine of that age.

Basically, once you have IIS installed, you would create a folder inside the c:\inetpub\www\ folder call it "web"... Save all your files in that folder...

Then you can test by ope ing your browser and entering http://localhost/web/

There's no way that's a Vista laptop, unless the OS was upgraded...and with those specs, it would probably run Vista horribly. If it's running anything, it's probably running either XP, 2000, or Millennium (in that order).

With that said, WZ is right...your best bet is to install IIS. If you have the original O/S CD, you can add it in as a Windows feature and install it and the SMTP server (you probably won't need the rest, but for most things you'll need these two). If not, depending on your OS it may be downloadable.

Yeah I was thinking along the lines of ME with a free upgrade to vista ... The last year they pushed ME down everyone's throats ( literally ), they were giving away upgrade vouchers ... The hardware was speced to just barely handle it... But it do run ( about as good as it could ), but most started dying in vista SP1. Hardware couldn't handle the SP demands.
