Hi, I downloaded Wamp5, but then it opens, only if I right click it and click, open file location.
Then there are about 40 files there etc.
How do I test my site with this.
The actual site is in a folder called spencer. the subfolder is the sites name:, If you open that, you get the files for the site, like: index, models, contact.
Then I dragged the wampfolder or file into the folder,
so, the wampfolder, I then named renamed it webserver. Its sitting in the folder.
What do I do with it now, or how do I make it check the website is correct.
If you click on the website folder ( it opens in notepad++.

The website seems correct in the browser, but the first page is a mess when uploaded. the writings etc all go underneath the actual template, which I designed in Gimp graphics.

WAMP is a group of programs bundled... when you start the WAMP manager, it puts an ICON in the Task Bar... right click on that to see and or start the different components.

Actually, you should have left the WAMP folder where it was installed, because all the registry entries on your PC are telling Apache web server, MySql, and everything else that the WAMP install is located in a particular place.

What you should have done was Install Wamp...

typically it installs to the root of the drive ( c:\wamp\ ) unless you tell it differently before the install,

Inside that folder is a folder called WWW

if you open your web browser to http://localhost/ the browser will open, display a page with Apache information and below that, a list of folders all the folders and files in the "www" folder.

if you put your folder with the files you want to run throught the browser inside the www folder... refresh the browser, and that folder will now show in the list... click on that folder name and the web server will display the files inside as they would on the server...

based on the information mentioned before...

You would put your "spencer" file inside the www folder... open the browser to http://localhost/spencer/ and the files will be served through the web server.

WAMP is just like many other programs, you can go just moving files and folders around and renaming folders without something breaking...

re-install wamp, use the defaults, then follow the instructions or video
