    Hi,

    What is the recommended method to ensure that my site is displayed with the same font regardless of platform that the website is viewed on. For some reason when the site is viewed on a PC and iMac, Galaxy Tab it views correctly, but when viewed from an ipad the font changes drastically. What is the best way to remedy this?

    Thanks in advance

    I would need to see a picture to know more... but here are some tips:

    1. Font Face Embed fonts and have 4 different versions.
    If you go to fontsquirrel.com for example, their font kits have 4 versions: svg, woff, ttf, and something else, I forget. Those 4 basically cover all modern browsers.

    2. Consider a backup font.
    Having a backup is important because otherwise if the font can't be found or loaded, your font will probably be defaulted to times new roman.

    body { font-family: "open sans", arial, "sans-serif" }

    3. System Fonts differ.
    I hate mac developers that make Helvetica the primary font. Helvetica (Nueu) comes naturally on Macs, but not PCs. That's one example.

    This is a really good point. Helvetica is not a default PC font, and what's worse is when those of us who have it see a page that uses Helvetica as its primary font and it looks like absolute turd. Helvetica fonts were generally meant to be anti-aliased, and for browsers without anti-aliasing enabled (e.g. Chrome) it looks awful.

    Disqus, I'm looking in your direction.

    Ha, I totally agree with you. I almost feel like those developing on a Mac need to step out of their mac bubble where all text is smooth as Michael Jordan's bald head. I test out all fonts on Google Chrome, as my acceptable floor. If it doesn't look reasonable, I'm not using it at all cause Windows users browsing with Chrome ... kind of a big demographic.

    But if they did that, they'd discover a world where even comparable Sony products are less than half the cost of the equivalent iCrap. DON'T BURST THE MAC BUBBLE, YOU PC FANBOY YOU.
