I am looking for software that allows a front end user to build their own product. They need to be able to select options from several categories and in the end see the the finished product picture. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I don't know if you'll find "software" that will do that. The closest thing I know of is Regency Fireplaces' FDC (Fireplace Design Center). It's a desktop application that is installed on fireplace retailers' computers so that they can generate quotes for people based on the fireplace/insert/stove make and model, any customizations they may want (fronts, trim, door options, etc.) and things such as venting (I think) and accessories.

It's not for release to the general public, though...I only know of it because I have a client who's a fireplace retailer and I've seen it first hand. It's also been developed over the course of several years, and they have staff that photographs every fireplace/insert/stove/product permutation at least once for use with the application.

I don't know of anything that exists like that online. It's fairly simple to build a custom app like that, as long as you have all the pictures of the finished products (which you'll need regardless of the route you pick), but I don't know of anything that could help you right out of the box.

As Game said, if you have pictures of all the various combinations, you should be able to build your own code to display the correct Photo. Depending on how many varieties there are, you could also brute force it by creating a standard web page with links to each of the photos.
