    The Podcast Thread

    For a change, I don't have an answer...I have a question.

As most of you who know me probably know, I'm a big fan of the Plagiarism Today site and the podcast. Jonathan (with help from Patrick on the podcast) does a great job of taking a topic that very few people have explored and really bringing it out in a manner that is both interesting and insightful.

Basically, I'm looking for more podcasts like this that I can download and put onto my MP3 player while I work out. My criteria are fairly simple:

    1) It's original.
    2) It can be downloaded into MP3 format for use with my MP3 player.
    3) Minimum length of time 1 hour per podcast, ideally around the 1:05 to 1:10 mark (give or take).
    4) It's ideally something web design or development related.

I'm not picky on opinion or fact or anything like that, as long as it's interesting.

So who else among us actually puts podcasts on an MP3 player while they lift things up and put dem down?

I put my podcasts on my MP3 so I have something to listen to on long drives.
I'll also listen while I'm gardening, if I don't feel like music. (I don't lift things and put them down much, unless you count compost).

I can't think of any that are as long as you want - I just put interesting ones on there and listen as long as I need to, one after the other.

Here's a list of places where I get some of mine, in no particular order:

Some have great content on a fairly regular basis, some you have to search for the gems, and some can make me laugh out loud (I get some funny looks from my neighbours when I'm gardening all alone and laughing like a loon!). I hope you find something that suits you.

I used to really like the Sitepoint podcast, but they quit doing it.

Home | TWiT.TV is a podcast network with tons of shows. Subscribe to them on iTunes or download them or stream them or listen live. They're all video podcasts, so you can watch them as well (or just grab the audio version).

That's one I actually wanted to listen to, since Patrick O'Keefe is also part of the PT podcast. Dude's got some interesting insights on things.

I'll have to check out some of those other ones. Thanks, dude.
