    Page unlinked from Master, somehow

In all of my pages, there is a bunch of yellow-highlighted text in the header and footer that I can't change because it's linked to the master sheet. If I try to edit it, it tells me it is non-editable. These areas update when I update my master.

I noticed that some of my pages, while they still have these yellow-highlighted non-editable areas, are not synching. I updated my master sheet, and these pages aren't updating. There must be a disconnect somewhere (possibly from me transferring files from one computer to another).

How can I re-link those pages to the master sheet?

Are you editing a site built in ASP.net or are you using some sort of a WYSIWYG editor?

Sounds like DW and it's template master pages ( which I quit using ages ago for that reason )...

if you want to re-link them... you'll need to find one that is working... open it with notepad++ or similar "text based" editor, copy the "master page" references and past them back into the pages that are broken.

in DW there was a "master page", manger, that showed only your master pages, if you changed anything in them, then DW would update any page that had the master page referenced in it...

don't know if expression web is similar, but sounds like it.

It is similar, yes. I did that, and the pages are now attached to the master. Thanks. I expected there to be some tag in the page that said "Link to Master." Kind of strange how just copying some code can link it. Anyway, thanks for the help!

Actually, sorry, that didn't fix it. I closed the program and tried again to edit the master, and it didn't work. Strangely, it says 28 files are linked to the master, when I update it. I opened one page which had been giving me problems, and when I saved the master with that other page open, it told me now 29 files are linked to the master, and it updated. Then I closed it and tried again - back down to 28. I tried another file, and whether or not it's open, it isn't linked to the master. I am super confused.............
