Users insert a youtube link and others view the link live.

I'm not sure if the title gives this topic justice, so I'll try to explain it further.

Say there are 5 people on the website at the same time. Person 1 posts the youtube link and the other 4 see it play.

Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Edit: Sorry if I posted this in the wrong part of the forums. Please move it to the correct location if need be.

That depends on what you used to build the site.

Forums built on vBulletin (e.g. this board) or XenForo have BBCodes and media embedding buttons built in. Some require custom coding or adjustments to be able to make those buttons work. So there is no real definitive answer to your question, other than maybe "show us your site and someone will have an answer for you."

It's more than embedding. It's more of a real time user controlled embedding. I would think that there would need to be a cgi app linked with websockets. Or maybe use webrtc?

I'm having trouble explaining what I'm after, but think of it like a chatroom. User 1 enters text and hits the "send" button, and the other users in the chatroom see what user one entered.

I'm still learning HTML5 and I'm not familiar with all of the elements. I'm not sure if this is possible with the Video element and websockets or not.

That I wouldn't know. I haven't played with anything like that. If it were me personally, I'd probably either install one of the chatroom scripts (mostly because I lack the time or the patience to build one myself since I have no real reason to) or I'd create some sort of a setup whereby I'd have an editor that would have buttons to be able to include video, images, etc. and then the other users would have some sort of a stream page that updated every second.
