    Need help with shopping cart for Weebly site

    I have built my very first website using Weebly. I am having error messages with PayPal already and they have admitted to me today that anyone using Google Chrome may have problems from time to time purchasing on my site if I use PayPal. I HAVE TO have an alternate cart choice. I have been researching for days and am so frustrated. Can anyone recommend an embeddable cart for Weebly that I can use along with PayPal?

    Ultimately, I want my customers to see one "add to cart" button and when they are ready to check out they can choose at that time to use PayPal OR use a credit card. But the credit card option cannot come from PayPal.

    Thank you,

    I'm not sure you're going to get an answer here.
    I know that in my case at least, as a designer/developer, I have never used a "free" build-your-own site like Weebly, so i have no idea how it works.
    I have built several e-commerce sites - all of which use Paypal as a payment option, and I have never run into any problems.
    I test all my sites in Chrome, IE8,9, and 10, Firefox, and Safari by making several small purchases and going through the checkout process to make sure it works.
    I would try to find out from PayPal some more specific information; is it a combination of Weebly and PayPal that is causing the problem? Is the problem due to the specific PayPal solution you are using (they offer several levels, and it may be that the one you are using is not appropriate for the type of sales you are making)
    As for an alternate way to accept credit cards, it looks as if Weebly offers PayPal or Google Checkout as the only options available.

    That's about all the help I can offer - sorry it isn't more.

    What Mare said.

    I've tested PayPal several times on sites, and as Mickey Mouse as it can be at times, I've never seen an issue with Chrome.

    The reason you're frustrated is because you're trying to use something free and limited to do something beyond its limitations. What you need to realize is that whenever a company like Weebly offers a website builder for free, it generally does so under one or both of two scenarios:

    1) The company wants you to buy a paid upgrade, and/or;
    2) It is so severely limited that it's intended for the most basic of sites only (usually static HTML, no forms, no database interaction, no nothing).

    At any rate, what you'll need in all likelihood is to pay for hosting and a proper merchant account.
    If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.

    If someone helped you out, be sure to "Like" their post and/or help them in kind. The "Like" link is on the bottom right of each post, beside the "Share" link.
