    Database Software or Other Ideas?

    Hi all,

I am creating a website with Wix for my company which is a model and talent agency. Everything is looking great! One issue I am running into is how to display our people. Wondering if there is a database software anyone would suggest that would help me to do this seamlessly and with nice style.

There are companies out there who handle this for talent agencies, but they charge monthly and after often pricey. I'd love to find an easy way to do this on my own, and manage/update photos, files (such as PFD resumes for actors) and talent's information throughout the year. Obviously, it would also need to be something that can be easily integrated with Wix.

Here are a few examples of what I need it to look like:

The problem with using services like Wix or Weebly, is that you have no access to any server-side scripting. To do what you wish, you'll really need your own website on a shared webhost. You will then have access to PHP, MySQLi, and whatever else you need to make it work properly.

You can't afford to spend $50 to $100 per year for a website? Really?
If you have a company, wouldn't that be part of your company business expenses?

You know, it's not even really an expense, although you can call it that for tax purposes. I always encourage people to look at it as an investment in their business, one that if properly done, will pay for itself over and over.

Of course, like anything else, you get what you pay for, and "free" site builders like Wix, Weebly, Yola... well, they are not really free. How long have you been playing around with the site? How frustrated are you? How much is your time worth? Free? NOT.

I've looked at the code of the sites you give as examples, and from what I can see, they are hand-coded (although the Locke Management one uses tables for layout, which is no longer recommended). They are good-looking,well-functioning professional sites.

If you want something like that, you're either going to have to learn how to write code, or hire someone to do it for you. I don't think you'll be able to find anything even close that can be integrated with Wix.
