    It is centered.

    Adjust your browser so you can change the browser size and see how it stays in the center.

    It's your image that isn't centered. Perhaps you just use that image for testing? You can remove it or do something else with it. You can also center it, but I'll let you Google: "CSS center image on page"

    I'm wrong ... the image is centered.

    The problem is you defined your body width narrower than the image width ... can't do that.
    Your image is 547 pixels wide.

    html,body{ background-color:#ddd; margin: 0px auto; width: 500px; }

    Why not make the body full width? width:100%;

    Here's an idea for you ...

    Take a look at one of hundreds of free HTML5 Responsive templates:
    Strongly Typed | HTML5 UP

    You can download that template, unzip the file on your PC, and upload them all to your "httpdocs" directory.

    Then, you can study the files and see how they do it. You can modify them, change the images, and play around.
    If you don't like it, just delete the files from your website and try something else.

    You can learn a lot by looking at other peoples' scripts.

    You right-click on their website to view HTML source.
    Look at the top of their source to see the filename of their CSS file.
    Manually enter the URL address to point to the CSS file (in your browser address window).

    Example, this is your CSS:
    http://www.coleio.com/css/mainpage.css
