    <img src=”../images/car.jpg” />
    There's a difference between quotes you use in code stuff, and curly quotes used for typographical reasons. Curly quotes will cause problems.

    Retype the quotes as straight up SHIFT + ' to make "straight" quotes like this """"

    I haven't checked if the image is actually in the place you say it is either, but your quotes are definitely off.

    Two apostrophes doesn't equal one quotation mark. This is your current code.

    <img src=''images/car.jpg'' />
    Either do a single apostrophe or single flat quotation. But not a combination of both.

    The browser may have been able to interpret the curly quotes as normal quotes, but that doesn't mean it's okay to use them. They'll cause problems somewhere down the line.

    Wikipedia has a good general article on quotation marks here: Quotation mark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    And if it still doesn't work after that, the only possible explanation is the image reference is incorrect.
