    3 Problems with Dreamweaver CS6

    Hello, everyone

    I have two problems that really bother me with dreamweaver CS6.

    THE FIRST PROBLEM:

    I found out that I can't type successive spaces within the page in the Design view. I want to know how to put some successive spaces in the text of the web page.

    THE SECOND PROBLEM:

    I read about how to center my logo picture in the page by reading the section "How To Center The Logo" by reading this: How to Insert Photos, Pictures and Other Images into Your Website with Dreamweaver CS6 (thesitewizard.com)

    I did what it said. The page seemed good (with the logo centered in the page) in the Design view in Dreamweaver. However, when testing the page on a web browser (I tried Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome) ,the page wasn't in the center of the page!

    I would be grateful if anyone could tell me how to solve these problems

    Thank you & any help will be appreciated

    Design view in Dreamweaver is seriously flawed. It does not show you how the page will truly lay out.

    It is best to learn how to code, not rely on DW to do it for you. I suspect that is why there were so few answers to your question about tutorials.

    Having said that, I know you have spent a LOT of money on DW, so my advice to you would be to use it in code view, or at the very least, in split view, so you can see the code. And look for coding tutorials - you can use those in code view and come up with decent code that you wrote yourself, not the bloated crap that DW tends to produce.

    For successive spaces in your text you need to go into code view and add code for specisl characters. For every space you want to insert, type this   that means "insert a non-breaking space"
    To center your logo, use CSS - pput the logo into a div and give the div an id in your html. Then in your CSS, style that div with margin:auto;
    Like this:
    HTML:
    <div id="logo"><img src="logo.jpg" /></div>

    CSS:
    #logo {margin:auto;}

    There will undoubtedly be more that you want to add to your CSS, such as padding, etc, but that should get you started.

    I had alot of problems with dreamweaver! Asked alot of ppl for alot of help! Everyone was pretty helpful but i didnt solve my problem till someone gave me the advice im about to give you..

    Delete dreamweaver! If you are serious about learning coding dreamweaver will not help you! Its extremely misleading with its Design View! The insert panel that has buttons you click to create code will not teach you how to code!

    Brackets is a good program, made by Adobe and is open source, meaning free! It has a preview button that is synced with Chrome to its like the Design view except inside an actual browser. You will be able to see how a browser sees the code and should be way more accurate than DW! You still want to test in other browsers..
