    Contact form placement

Whilst in the process of designing a website for a client my client requested I include a contact form on the home page. I have attached a screenshot the client cited as a site to emulate in how the form should be placed

Personally I would rather have a call to action link or image link to a separate form page or a popup form (modal/lightbox style) instead rather than use up valuable space on the page.

I would be interested in thoughts from other designers on this.

    Cheers

Both methods have their merits. People know what a contact form is for. If they see it, they know where it is and what it's for. You could easily just use a header above the form as a CTA.

I'm not a designer, but "whatever works". Every site is different.

If you want a way to find out which is best, there's always a content experiment.

I agree with all. Doesn't matter where the form is placed as long as the user can see it, or know it's there. Remember some people use 20 inch monitors and some people have iPad Mini's.
