    How to create a website?

I'm sorry if this post bothers you, but I'm just a complete newbie searching for help.

I'm trying to make a website similar to this: Home - OneInMath

but I'm not sure where to begin and how to begin.

Can someone list the summarized steps to make such website and hopefully be my mentor?

    Thank you

That is a wordpress site, using this free wordpress theme:

    1) Decide on a domain name (example:
It has to be something not yet taken.

I just checked to see if "" is available ... it is available.
It's probably your name? But if it is, that's a nice sounding name ... sounds like a University.
You can test domain names here:
Don't register it there, just use it to check for availability. You will register it with the webhost account you choose.

If your real name is Stanford Martin, you may want to buy that domain name for yourself, just to own it.
You don't need it for your upcoming website, but you can still own it and use it for other things.

    2) Find a webhost, such as GoDaddy,, 1 & 1

    3) Subscribe to a webhost account and domain name using a credit card.

    4) Install WordPress and the theme files plus plugins.
WordPress is free, many themes are free, many plugins are free.

    5) Enter content.

    6) You will have a website similar to

That answers your question, but to actually do that might take some skills you may not yet have?
It isn't something we can do for you because you need to pay for webhosting with a credit card, and we won't have access to your account.

There are tutorials online you might want to search for, using Google.

Here is a huge hint for learning WordPress:

    1) Go to the wordpress site and create a free account:

    2) Use that free account to learn how wordpress works and play around with it.

    3) That free wordpress site is a real site, but it's hosted by wordpress and you have many limitations on what you can do. It is perfect for learning wordpress though, and won't cost you a penny.

    4) If you like wordpress and wish to go ahead with a real website using wordpress, see the steps about getting your own webhost account.

The easiest way to start a website for a total newbie would probably be blogger, though wordpress has better features in my opinion. Just google blogger or wordpress. It basically guides you through step-by-step what to do. Then, you just start writing! These services are free, but if you want your own domain name, that would be extra.
