Where can I get a free comprehensive list of cities/towns?

Does anyone know where can I get a free comprehensive list of cities/towns in the US and Canada?
We have a site that focuses on local businesses and need an all inclusive list.
Just wondering if anyone has a free resource to find such a list. I'm sure they can be purchased...and googling can always be done to build a list, although time consuming. However free would be ideal LOL
Sorry if this question is in the wrong category as I wasn't sure where to put it.
Thank you in advance if anyone is able to point me in the right direction.

I don't know of any free ones.

But if it focuses on local businesses, why would you need a database of US/Canada cities?

because we are exactly that...local focused.
Meaning if someone has a business in a tiny town in Canada/US they will be listing their business in their town rather than in a highly populated city.

oh, sorry, I was thinking your website is supposed to be about one city, (website local to one city).

Even if you used Google API or Yahoo API to capture GPS location for mapping, that has limitations to how many accesses per hour, day, year, etc.

If it's important for that business, they'll have to pay for a service ... just part of doing business.
