Looking to start Web Site for Local Business. Need some help.

So I'm looking to break into web design work and one way I wish to start is with making a website for the owner of a Local Games and Hobby store called NH Sports and Gaming Outlet. Currently, they only have a facebook page for announcing upcoming events. Before I propose the idea to the owner, there are a few things I've been wondering:

    1. What would be the advantage of the owner to have a website in addition to having a facebook page.

    2. How would I need to handle web hosting and who would be paying the cost.

    3. Is there anything else I should worry about before doing this.

Any information would help me out greatly. Sorry if some of these questions seem obvious.

    1) You control the site. You don't control Facebook. If they decide tomorrow to charge for business pages or for reach (they do on the latter), you're out of luck.

    2) You can do that and charge the owner, or you can let the owner choose him/herself.

    3) Depends on the site you're trying to build. There could be about a million answers to that question, unfortunately.
If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.

If someone helped you out, be sure to "Like" their post and/or help them in kind. The "Like" link is on the bottom right of each post, beside the "Share" link.

For the kind of site I plan to build, my initial thoughts are a website that contains information about the store, what products are being sold, what gaming events are occurring and when and contact information. I also plan on asking the owner if there is anything that he would like to see on the website as well.

Perhaps the owner would like to sell from the website? Or perhaps an ebay store?
