Domain name help
Hi,
I am finally to the point of putting up my portfolio but I have been at a stand still for weeks because I can not decide on a domain name. I do not want to use my personal name, atleadt just not my fullname as my domain. I know this is what most ppl do but I just dont want to.
Most all the ones I like are taken or cost a couple of thousands to get...right now, I dont want to use .net, I really want a .com.
I read on another site where someone was having the same problem...someone suggested they use "hello" and then their first name...so it would be hellosarah.com.... is this professional? As silly as it may sound, I actually like it lol...or perhaps im pooped from thinking on this...
what I really want it a memorable name, something feminine but not too girly...my brain is just fried...any suggestions...thanks

You're overthinking it. That's my suggestion.
I don't use my full name for my portfolio, either. Mind you, I also registered both my .com and .ca back in 2002. You're right about not wanting to use .net...won't really do you much good.
I would have no issue with hellosarah.com. It's memorable. I don't think people care all that much about a domain anyway. They care about who you are.

meekygirl.com is not yet taken.

Yeah, I believe you're overthinking it, which is pretty much the norm for many of us :)
Think about your brand and center that around your name. Take your time as well; If you're able to, build the content and get the "idea" of the site down while you think of a name, and once you get the domain squared away, then put the previous work on to the site and go get 'em!
Hope this made sense, busy day on my end.
