    100% Newbie. Looking for help/suggestions.

    Hello good people,

I am looking into creating a website with certain specific functionalities. I've been researching for weeks now and I cant seen to find any platform like wix or squarespace that would help me accomplish this.

I need the website to have the certain functionalities:

-user can upload their own pics and enter specific information regarding the pic, aka model of the car, color, year the pic was taken, etc.

-the website would display the pic on the main page along with other user uploaded pics.
-ability for user to start forums and reply to existing forums (just like this one)
-ability for user to search for specific pictures categories such as : year taken, model of vehicle, etc.

Im 100% new to the website building world, im looking into mirroring (same functionality) websites like airlines.net but for military vehicles.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Happy Holidays everyone!!

    Thanks again for your help.

Is this for selling and trading, or just a hobbyist site to show off restorations?

Just a hobby, no e-commerce (at least not yet).

You could "get your feet wet" by getting a free wordpress site and learning how to use wordpress ..... www.wordpress.com

learn how to log-in, create pages, categories, posts.

There are plugins for allowing people to upload stuff and comment, etc.

The free version requires you to use the domain name they give you and there might be some ads ... but it's free.

If you like wordpress, you can subscribe to a real webhost and have your own website, using wordpress without restrictions or ads.

Yes, I agree, go with Wordpress and purchase Divi and you will have similar functionality as Wix

Do it all for free at first. You may discover you don't even like doing this website/programming stuff. It has to become a passion and something you really find interesting, or you will be wasting your time and money.
