Post Looking for a search field and results box - script

    Hi to all!
I'm new to this forum and just want to quickly introduce myself.
Im Joist, 22, studying business informatics in germany and am
doing an exchange semester in sweden right now.
I have to create a mobile web application for universities, that helps profs to keep
    track of the course progression.

    Ok here we go.
Im searching for a script, that already does similar/ same things as what i need.
This is what the superuser part should look like:
(Entities in this case are universitys)

The search box input should directly refresh the shown entities.

Thanks in advance for any help!!
Looking forward to hear some advices/ scripts or even the code for this stuff!

    Greetings from sweden,
    Joist

Just so I understand, all of the entities are loaded from the database and displayed when the page is first loaded, and you want it to filter based on what's in the search box?

You are asking for a lot.

I believe you need to look at PDO CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete).

If it were me, I would take a free existing script like this:
Webslesson Demo - PHP PDO Ajax CRUD with Data Tables and Bootstrap Modals

(see the demo, and then see the tutorial)

Customize it so it has your data, and then work on the filtering (search) features.

We are going to assume you already know PHP, JQuery, MySQL, PDO ... if not, then good luck.
It doesn't get any easier than using an existing script. Most of the work is done for you.

I actually was curious about the demo I showed you, so I downloaded the scripts and installed them into my website to test it out.

Works very nice. The search box is great ... as you type, it narrows down the list automatically in real time. The layout is not responsive (for smaller screen sizes), but that would easily be fixed with the CSS. Of course you would be creating your own fields as you need. Also, the "sort" options on each column will need to be altered to sort how you want them to sort.
