    cmd f you

hi guys. been a while since my last post. so I'm reading a book on php and MySQL by larry Ullman and I'm trying to get the MySQL client to run in the command prompt but its not working. I'm punning wamp64.. first i tried the path

    c:\wamp64\bin\mysql\5.7.19\bin

    this produced an error...

C:\wamp64\bin\mysql\mysql5.7.19\bin' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

i then tried to open the exe file in the MySQL folder as per a discussion i read on stack overflow, the prompt box opened and then disappeared

so then after reading another discussion i ran it as an administrator but that still didn't work

i have no experience with the cmd prompt, and this boox is said to ease you into it so to speak but i cant even get the thing to run... any ideas?

What is the date of the book?

    MySQL is obsolete.

    There is MySQLi (i=improved)

    or best is PDO.

I'm not a WAMP 64 expert, but I think you need to install some PDO extensions?

You need to find a WAMP forum and ask there.

The "c:\wamp64\bin\mysql\5.7.19\bin" bit probably refers to a folder, not a program, so you'll maybe want to do something like this:

    Change Directory (cd)

    cd c:\wamp64\bin\mysql\5.7.19\bin

    List files

    dir
