    Panorama views

    Hi folks,

    So I've been googling for a long time and come up fruitless so far. But I'm new to this area.

    I've got some panorama shots using my iphone which I'd like to find a neat way of viewing on my site. I got an app for my phone allowing me to do 360 degree (horizintally) shots as the standard camera app only goes 180 degrees. (it's not a proper 360 degree horizontal and vertical, just a long hirizontal strip all the way round)

    So I have a a single jpg image of 8285px by 1300px. So with my vague reading up so far it doesn't meet the 2:1 aspect ratio... or any other format that seem to be required for any of the viewers I've looked at so far for embedding into the site.

    I'm sure it can't be that difficult and I must be missing something, or maybe not so I thought I'd ask here.

    Anyone any ideas on how to create a nice 360 degree scrolling view of such an image on my site?

    Any hints or ideas most welcome!

    Ta!

    Try this free service and then embed them into your site:

    If you are just trying to display the single huge (super wide) image on your web page do this:

    Code:
    <style>
    .pan{
    width: 100%;
    overflow: hidden;
    overflow-x:scroll;
    }
    </style>
    <div class="pan">
    <img src="/path/to/image">
    </div>

    Thanks dude, but I'm looking for a nice scollable interface on web and mobile that can take a simple 360 horizontal panorama that's a single long horizontal image.

    I'm sure there's gotta be one out there someplace!?

    Put one of your images online and give me a link to it. I'm curious to experiment with it.

    Find the image in its raw format at Untitled Document

    I just posted it up as a basic image and it's come out vertically which is what it seems to do with all these sites that say upload an image and we'll make it fantastic...

    Good luck and any help most welcome, ta!

    I'm not being that dense I'm sure, it displays horizontally in windows, photoshop etc.

    OK ...

    I figure the coolest way would be to use a JQuery method.
    So I found a nice one here:
    https://github.com/peachananr/panorama_viewer

    This is my working example using your photo:
    jQuery Panorama Viewer

    Nice photo! Makes me want to be there to check out the interesting home/cabin, whatever it is.
    Great detail ... next to the fire pit, I see a blue recycle bin that you stole from your local rubbish hauler?
    Please return it

    You can view the HTML source by using your browser.
    And an FYI ... I did have to rotate your image 90deg right to make it horizontal. Not sure, but however you uploaded it, something changed it to vertical. You might want to figure out how it happened.

    Here, the author of the panorama script shows a stack several photos on one page:

    @hmedia,

    Every post you make is one sentence ... that's it.
    I'm thinking maybe you're not a person but a spam robot.
    As soon as a link appears to a web design company on your signature or post, all of your posts and you will be erased from WDF. I'm watching every post you make.

    If your posts are dimunutive because of your lack of English skills, maybe you should find a forum that is written in your native language? Just a thought.

    Wow you've done it, that's so awesome thanks mlseim!

    Haha well it's actually going t be an AirBnB (or whichwever site it ends up on) holiday place so you're welcome to rent it ... when it's ready.

    *The blue thing by the fire is an old fish box (I'm in Scotland) and I can garuntee nobody will be wanting it back

    Thanks again dude, you're a star, the sea looks a bit wonky where there's a join, might have to re-take it or try a different pano-app on my phone, but that's fantastic. I better go check out the code now and see if I too can make it work.

    Cheers

    (So strange, I opened the image in photoshop, it was horizontal, I rotated it to vertical and uploaded it, it came out vertical as before, I rotated it back to horizontal and saved it again and bingo it was horizontal. )

    Ahhh you're a good moderator, give them a chance...

    I've been on the internet and forums in various capacities for too long it seems; when I saw this reply I looked for the delete button before remembering where I was and that there wouldn't be one hahaha
