    Creating a website

    Hi

I have created a website through wordpess using youtube tutorials.

I have almost finished the website now am stuck in some basic linking of sites.

My domain name eg is BasicWorld

I have installed word press on www.basic.com/WP

I am not able to edit on www.basic.com/WP

    I have created pages www.basic.com/WP/home
    www.basic.com/WP/contact
    www.basic.com/WP/about

I am able to edit with ELEMENTOR/WORDPRESS these pages but not the title page. www.basic.com/WP

    NOW
I want to either edit the www.basic.com/WP page
    or
delete the www.basic.com/WP page and make www.basic.com/WP/home my default page. Also when I type www.basic.com/WP should redirect to www.basic.com/WP/home

Secondly I want to remove WP from my site title

    Would appreciate your help.

    Regards

    www.basic.com/WP

    goes to:

    BasicWorld

    What's the story with that?

I think you have a bunch of URL issues, and none of the links you provided go to anything that appears to be WordPress.

I suggest you contact your webhost for some help.

You should really install wordpress into your root directory then.
Maybe delete it all and re-install.

Most webhosts have a thing in the control panel where they install it for you automatically.

Wordpress then modifies .htaccess to do URL mod rewrites. That's how it control the various short links.

Whatever you currently have on your website root directory copy to a backup directory.
You are expecting your site to be a "wordpress platform", so whatever is there now you won't use anyhow.

I just ran into a similar issue. I just set up a new wordpress site in my hosting and missed one thing in the set up and instead of setting the site up as mysite/com it set it up as mysite.com/blog

Without knowing who your hosting is with in my control panel there are some buttons to the bottom right that say things like delete site, backup and so forth. One of the buttons is "clone" How I fixed this was to click the clone button and clone the site from

    www.advancedxyz.com/WP/home

    to www.advancedxyz.com

Then you delete the one that is www.advancedxyz.com/WP/home
