How to make a Video pop-up when clicking on an image or text??

I am just racking my brain trying to make it to where when you click on an image a youtube video will pop up and work properly. As it stands I have tried dabbling in Modal, Magnific and lightbox but I can't get any to work properly. Any ideas, what do you usually do in this situation? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, I have been reading GitHub's and watching Youtube videos and I think I am missing something!

I assume you mean a youtube video embedded on your page?

I think with javascripting/JQuery you would preload all of the photos and embedded youtube vids. The CSS would make the video container "hidden" and the photo container "visible". OnClick listener would cause them to switch ... photo is hidden and video is visible.

Except the id "video" would be hidden until the link was clicked.
And the link would be an image not text.

Thank you Mlseim for the response. I actually solved it by incorporating Jquery "Flashy" so this did the trick though your would too. Thank You!
