Google Map - best way to show it?

    Hi all,
Need your opinion on a design issue. Need to show location of some hotels on a Google map. Should I show the map in a modal window (and keep visitors on my site) or link them directly to Google map (in a new browser tab). What is the best practice?
What way do you prefer as a user?

How about embedding the map on your website?

You might have to embed it as an <iframe> because Google Maps API is no longer free.
It's sort of free, but up to a certain amount of accesses each hour, day, etc.

I'm talking about Google Maps API where you actually create your own "mashup" of Google Maps w/ your own hotel location markers. You have full control of any of the markers (clicking, info boxes, links, etc). You make your own markers look however you want, and you only show YOUR hotels, not anyone elses.

Embedding is different. You just rely on what Google shows on its normal maps and insert an <iframe> window on your site. Any clicking in that window happens outside your site. It's just a normal Google Map displayed on your web page.
