    jquery if .hasClass not working

    Hi, this seems really simple and have used this many times, but for the life of me cannot figure out what im doing wrong in this simple situation. https://codepen.io/jeremydricard/pen/NVBOdw

    Could someone please look at this simplified code and tell me why I cant get the console.log message to show?
