I dont want to appear completely thick but I have just built a very basic site(you can have a look if you like) and the tutorial said I should make my main page as index.html. Well thats ok but when I submit the site to search engines they want to know the page TITLE? Is this index.html and can I change it. Hope this makes sense

You can use anything for this, for example, if my site is www.sitename.net when I submit it to a search engine I would just type in Site Name, it is not that important what you put, but make sure it relates to your site's content at least.

Maybe use the same title that you have put between <title> </title> in index's code.

    Hope this helps

Umm yeah if you want, thats no that important, but dont change what you save it as.

The file name needs to stay as indec.html

But the title can be changed to anything you want.

    hi
your page title is not what you save the page as, the page title, as daniel said, is what you place in your html <title> tag, this will appear in the browser title bar ( the blue bar top of browser window). Think this is where you're getting confused
