Here I made this when playing with the polar coordinates

make a new image about 250x250 pixels.
add a layer to it and make both layers black.
andd a lens flare, about where the default is, 105mm Prime, 100%
goto Filters, Distort, Polar Coordniates, and make it Polar to Rectangle.
goto Edit, Trasform, Flip Vertical
then go back to the polar coordniates, but this time make it Rectangle to Polar
now get out the Circle Marquee and select right where the sphere meets the light, and then Select, Inverse it
and delete it
after you colorize it a bit it should look like this, and I have also found that if you get the eraser out and put the opacity down to about 20 and then erase a bit of the middle, you can make it look like text of smthing is trapped and you can also add a little fog to it too

Is Photoshop the best program to use to make good images such as that sphere or is there another good one?
