    Is it possible to alter the transparency of an ActiveX object using css style or class in the <object> tag?

    I don't believe so, just like you can't change the transparency of a Java applet.

    yes you can FIlbert

    Back in the day when I was a java freak I was sooo mad that C# allowed programmers to make transparent stuff with just one line
    object.Opacity = 90; or whatever..

    So i looked and looked and asked around and I ended up with a transparent Java Instant Messenger and an Applet

    Couldn't do it today to save my life but I know it can be done.. not saying it's easy as C# neither.. hehe
