I would like the table element containing the directory listing to have scroll bars so it does not go beyond the bottom of the screen and long file names don't spill into adjacent cells.

I have been playing with different CSS attributes but have had no luck. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to do this?

You know the code tags on these forums:
    Code:
    looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg linnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

this should cause scroll bars to appear
I would like the table element containing the file list to have scroll bars like that.

I suggest you use a div with the overflow property to scroll bars.

Thanks for that - it worked. However, the list is always too long and goes off the bottom of the page. I have tried setting the height property, but this is ignored.
