I want to create a small square as a graphic, coloured with #948DE0

It seems to ignore my pixel settings until they get to about 20x20 pixels.

At 10x10, using IE6, I get a rectangle which is twice as high as it is wide.

They call CSS the standard way to make web sites but things (like this) don't work in an obvious way.

how are you making it? if you are doing it with an empty div (for example with a space or a &nbsp then make sure that the font size is like 3px... that's probably what's causing you the grief

I am making it by creating a new style i.e. '#square1' in css selector and attaching an external style sheet to the html page.

The font size thing seems a likely candidate, I'll try reducing it.

    Cheers

Yep that's it! My boxes can be really small now. I've never been more happy.

I dont mean to hijack your thread but you might find this interesting since it invloved the use of many small colored divs.

This is one of the most interesting experiments I have ever seen using css..

    Glad it worked

By the way, that pencils thing is really really cool. But the designer must have been so bored to do it all by hand!
